Privacy Policy

1. What do we do with your information?

When you purchase something from our store, we collect the personal information you provide such as your name, billing and shipping address, email address, and payment details, as part of the buying and selling process. When you browse our site, we also automatically receive your computer’s Internet Protocol (IP) address and browser information to help us learn about your device, operating system, and browsing behavior.

In addition, we may collect information such as your purchase history, communications with our customer service team, product reviews or feedback you provide, and information about how you interact with our website, emails, or marketing campaigns.

With your consent, we may send you emails about our products, promotions, and updates.

2. Consent

When you provide us with personal information to complete a transaction, verify your payment method, place an order, arrange for delivery, or request a return, you consent to our collecting and using it for that specific purpose.

If we ask for your personal information for a secondary purpose, such as marketing, we will either ask for your explicit consent or give you the opportunity to decline.

If after you opt in, you change your mind, you may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at contact@minervamedical.ca or by mail at:
Minerva Medical, 21 Antares Dr, Unit 114, Nepean, ON K2E 7T8, Canada.

3. Disclosure

We may disclose your personal information if required by law, if necessary to comply with regulatory obligations, if needed for fraud prevention or to protect our rights and interests, or if you violate our Terms of Service.

In certain cases, we may also share information with professional advisors such as accountants, auditors, consultants, and lawyers, when reasonably necessary for them to provide services to us.

4. Payment processing

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase, your payment data is processed by Shopify or its third-party providers. Shopify encrypts your credit card data in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your transaction data is retained only as long as necessary to complete your purchase. All direct payment gateways follow PCI-DSS standards as set by the PCI Security Standards Council (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover).

5. Third-party services

Third-party providers engaged by us will only collect, use, and disclose your information to the extent necessary to perform the services they provide. Certain providers, such as payment processors or logistics companies, have their own privacy policies governing the information we must provide to them for order fulfillment.

These providers may operate in jurisdictions outside Canada. If you proceed with a transaction involving a third-party service provider, your data may become subject to the laws of that jurisdiction (for example, the Patriot Act in the United States). Once you leave our website or are redirected to a third-party application, this Privacy Policy no longer applies.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers.

6. How we collect personal information

We collect personal information in several ways:

  • Directly from you: when you create an account, make a purchase, contact customer service, subscribe to our communications, or provide feedback.
  • Automatically: through cookies, log files, analytics tools, and similar technologies when you use our website.
  • From third parties: such as logistics partners, payment providers, or analytics platforms that help us process orders, measure performance, or improve our services.

7. How we use personal information

We use the personal information we collect to process and fulfill customer orders, provide support and respond to inquiries, and, where consent has been provided, send marketing communications.

Personal information also helps us improve and personalize our website, services, and product offerings. In addition, we may use this information to prevent fraud, maintain security, protect our rights and interests, and comply with applicable legal, tax, and regulatory requirements.

8. Security

We take reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.

If you provide credit card details, the information is encrypted using secure socket layer technology (SSL) and stored with AES-256 encryption. While no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, we comply with PCI-DSS requirements and implement additional safeguards consistent with industry standards.

9. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy laws, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have several rights regarding your personal information. You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct any inaccuracies or incomplete details. You also have the right to request the deletion of personal information when it is no longer required, and you may withdraw your consent to processing at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. In addition, you may request details about how your personal data has been shared with third parties.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may also file a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC).

To exercise these rights, please contact our Privacy Compliance Officer at contact@minervamedical.ca or by mail at:
Minerva Medical, 21 Antares Dr, Unit 114, Nepean, ON K2E 7T8, Canada.
